What's new
PDFTools is an active project, and this page is our record of it. Every new tool, every guide and every review of existing content is logged here, newest first — so you can see how the site is maintained and what has changed since your last visit.
October 2026
- Published four new guides: how to merge PDFs properly, JPG versus PDF, getting PDF tables into Excel, and preparing a print-ready PDF.
- Reviewed all six existing guides for accuracy, clarity and working tool links.
- Reorganised the guides hub by category so related topics sit together.
- Added related-guide links to every article so readers can continue on a topic.
September 2026
- Added three conversion tools: PDF to Excel, PDF to PowerPoint and PDF to Text, bringing the tool count to thirteen.
- Published the first six long-form guides covering PDF fundamentals, compression, PDF-to-Word conversion, privacy, scan organisation and formal submissions.
- Expanded the legal and company pages: privacy policy, terms, cookie policy, about and contact.
- Introduced equal-prominence accept/reject cookie consent for EEA, UK and Swiss visitors.
- Connected the site to its own domain and made the sitemap dynamic so new pages are included automatically.
August 2026
- Launched the first ten working tools: merge, split, compress, extract, delete and rotate pages, PDF to JPG, JPG to PDF, PDF to Word and Word to PDF.
- All processing runs locally in the browser — files are never uploaded to a server.
- Added clearly labelled advertising slots outside the workspace and an admin control to enable or disable them.
How we maintain this site
Guides are reviewed quarterly and re-dated when their content changes. Tool pages are tested with real files whenever the underlying libraries are updated. If you spot something wrong or missing, the contact page reaches a real person.
